Interest in health and well- being is paramount for a blossoming individual. So what should you be looking for:

• Eating less meat (doing your due diligence is crucial…you don’t need to go the Portlandia extreme, but purchase your meat from credible, reliable, conscious grocers)
• Eating more nuts, plants, and seeds
• Drink coconut water…the amount of electrolytes found in this health wonder are astonishing!
• Prioritize your organics…you don’t have to go crazy buying everything organic at first to become healthier, remember a small step taken every day will make a profound difference.
• Avoid can foods or vegetables that are often lined with hormone-disrupting BPA
• Review “The Dirty Dozen” these are fish characterized by their high amounts of mercury and PCBs.

On the scarier side of labels…read ingredients and avoid:

• Artificial colors
• Chemical preservatives (BHA, sodium nitrate, sodium benzoate)
• Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, saccharin)
• Added sugar (high fructose corn syrup and all its aliases
• Genetically modified ingredients (soy and canola oil)

This quote really puts life struggles into perspective. In my daily journey to try to increase awareness for the green movement, as a lifestyle, through Green to Clean, I had noticed that I slipped into the coma-induced state of living in fear. I let the negative responses of others, and most importantly my inner thoughts, dictate my motivation, my passion, and my desire to educate. It’s amazing, when tried by the fire how many of us come out shining? This whole time I’m thinking it’s because of this or that and, meanwhile, it was me.  I realized I had to surrender and reprogram my mind. I had to learn there is timing for everything. No matter how much I pushed, pulled or just plain out contorted myself…it just won’t happen until the time is right.

At church, we are studying the last week of Jesus and how it impacted the world, ultimately our lives’. I’m immediately reminded of Jesus’ sacrifice…His life. Knowing the pain and agony He suffered for me…for You and the strength that He exemplified through His life,  is in fact manifested in You.

It’s the ironic part of life…that even when all hope seems lost, there remains Him inside of us. There exists an unshakable strength inside of you that chases the pain and fear away.  Remember Who lives in you and the next time you are confronted with a challenging situation, know that your strength lies in Him.
